Self Respect and Tough Decisions

On the journey of trying to better oneself...we will encounter many obstacles. One of the most challenging is getting people to accept the "new and improved" you. Once persons have grown accustomed to you and your old mannerisms, you have been logged into their mental diary. You are one of the things they "know". With this knowledge they are aware of how to approach you,how to react, they will make reference of your attributes to other persons..based on what they have gathered. Being a teen can be challenging as it is the period when one establishes the foundation and integral elements of their character.

Of course there will come a time where you will be more self aware than you have ever been. You will have focus and direction as you pedal swiftly towards your dreams...BUT...then.. its like you got people constantly disrespecting you...bringing up ole shit ...and your old ways...just trying to stir up drama. Consider this-the time you spent reading the first paragragh of my blog..that right there..the time you spent..its gone...it has faded into "history"...it has "passed"..."it is over"...much less for your old ways..old ideals and stuff like that. Don't let people crucify you for your mistakes..People will be angered when you screw up..dependin on what it is...but when it comes to impeding your progress in life overall...be done with that.

There also comes the issue of friends and self respect. One of the toughest decisions you will ever have to make...is tolerating the disrespectful habits of long term friends. Nobody wants to end a friendship after years and years of laughs and journeying together. You will sense however..when someone isn't "down" for you. When they don't operate in defense and love of you.. Your senses will be triggered when you realize that your friend says things to you a friend shouldn't say...and talks to you in ways a friend should not talk to a friend. .....AND...along will come the epic conflict of conscience which extends your patience by leaps and bounds because of ..long term friend loyalty. ..

Every rope has its end. If you,my readers have a struggle similar to mine. There will come a time when you just .."cannot" anymore. You will lose faith in people and realize that your journey with them has come to an end and it is time to move on. People will not always give you the respect you deserve...which leaves you no choice but to walk away.

You need not stay anywhere where you feel unappreciated and disrespected. Genuine love for oneself will make the journey easier to leave old paths and follow new ones.
I must emphasize how hard it is though...to leave the old and move on to the new...especially when it comes to people...and by extension friends...You would have grown to love and appreciate persons...flaws and all..

But when mutual-ism ceases....then the road you all journey ...as unfortunate as it seems...may have to come to an end....

To be continued...
