Dealing with Exams

Well seeing how i have been a student for roughly 14 years of my life.I consider myself  an expert when it comes to understanding the stresses associated with examinations- from the procrastination to the flunking. I however have reached a point in my life where i understand the purpose of good grades and doing well at school( not from being told that i need to do well..but because i have a greater sense of direction when it comes to my future).Sometimes its easy to adopt the rebellious and lazy attitude of not wanting to take notes in class or submit assignments. However let me be the one to tell you that YOU ARE ONLY DOING YOURSELF AN INJUSTICE..not your teachers..or whoever it is you intend to spite. I'm sure you've realized that they're the ones sitting behind the desks...getting paid whilst we rack out brains on challenging exams.
Bla Bla Bla...Enough of this lecture sounding stuff...
Here are some tips which have saved my skin...Considering that i may not necessarily be doing the same subjects as you are...forgive the general nature..i hope its still helpful.
Prior to examinations.
1.note taking...some persons are not very good at making notes, however subject matter is available online.Make use of these resources and equip yourself with the information(syllabus). Speak to your teacher, they can give some direction to a seemingly "lost cause".

2.Do not procrastinate. This may probably be the hardest thing you will do.However, getting a timetable started and rationing your time is important so that you can make the best of it and gradually feed you mind the knowledge needed..so that you do not need to cram.
3.Pray. and Believe that you will do well.,granted that you put in the necessary work.(flash cards, audio, reading, writing, practice, study groups, tutorials)

4. Revise your exam time table or exam start times.Assure that you make all necessary preparations so that you are early for your exam( early meaning at least 30 mins to an hour early)

5. Keep focused in the exam room. Do not be frantic.Relax. Breathe and be silent.

6.Time management is important in an exam. This varies with person so id advise that you do what works for you.My personal technique; answer what i know the answers too first and leave the questions that require more thought for last. For essays;i plot my points so that i can focus and keep my train of thought steady whilst writing.

I know that there are so many other tips...i just can't seem to recall all right now.

One more thing:Don't cheat. Its never a true reflection of your true capabilities. Its easier to just do the work. Believe it or not. Keeps the conscience clear and you "NOT NERVOUS" ..oh and if you can't remember how to spell a word...use a synonym that u can spell...specially if its an English exam and not the terminology of the subject.
Good Luck,God Bless, with loads of exam success:)
